Vivian A. Stratton, 73, of Salem Rt 1, Box 630, Spring Valley, died Tuesday at a Salem nursing home. Born in Aberdeen, SD, he came to Oregon in 1906 with his parents. He lived on a farm in the Spring Valley area, where he and his father developed a large apple orchard and operated one of the earliest harvesting outlets in the community. A graduate of Salem High School, he was a past member of Spring Valley School Board. Surviving are widow Ruth; daughters Mrs Olive Johnston, Twisp, Wash, Mrs Ila Nelson, Seattle, Wash; four grandsons. Services are pending at Barrick mortuary.
