OBITUARY: 

Evalena Mae Storm, 70, of Salem, died Friday. She was born in Newport, and had lived in Salem 46 years. She was a nurse’s aide for the Oregon state Hospital. Survivors include her brothers, William and Thomas Gatens, both of Seal Rock, James J. Gatens, Naselle, Wash, and Robert Gatens, Seattle; and sisters, Ilene Doty, Newport, Betty Johnson, Ketchikan, Alaska, and Donna Klint, Naselle. The casket will be open from 4 pm today to noon Monday at Howell-Edwards-Doerksen mortuary. Services will be at 1 pm Monday at the mortuary, and interment in Zena Cemetery.

Gatens, Naselle, Wash, and Robert Gatons, Seattle, Wash; sisters, Ilene Doty, Newport, Ore, Betty Johnson, Ketchikan, Alaska, and Donna Klint, Naselle, Wash; aunt, Evelyn Bremmer, Salem; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be at 1:00 pm Mon, Oct 3, at Howell-Edward-Doerksen Chapel of the Gardens, 1350 Com’l SE. Interment follows at Zena Cemetery. The casket will be open until 12:00 pm Mon, Oct 3.
