Survived by daughters, Dorothy Ely, Athena, Ore, Julia Basset and Arden Welch, Salem, Ruth Wright, Erin, Tenn; sons, Paul Shepard and Joseph Shepard of Salem, James Shepard, San Francisco, Calif, David Shepard, Portland, Ore; sister, Arlie Ginder, Camas, Wn; 19 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Fri, Sept 9 at 2:00 pm in Zena Cemetery. Rev Kenneth L. Ollek officiating. Arrangements under the direction of the Howell-Edwards-Doerksen Chapel of the Gardens, 1350 Com’l SE.
