OBITUARY: 

Mrs Nellie M. Rogers, a former teacher, died Wednesday at her home 942 Summer St NE, at the age of 98. Born in Ireland, she came to this country at the age of 16, settling in Minnesota. She taught at Red Lake Indian School in Minnesota for a number of years until moving to Portland in 1910. Her husband, Timothy Rogers was killed in an accident in Minnesota. In Portland she served for 34 years as matron of woman athletics at the Multnomah Athletic Club. Survivors include two sons, Lyle, Phoenix, Ariz, and Emmet, Salem; a brother in Ireland and another brother and three sisters in California, four grandchildren, including Barnes Rogers, Salem; and 13 great-grandcildren. Services are pending at Barrick mortuary.
