Parish of Origin – Delayed birth certificate for son David McCauley of Portland, Oregon, dated 15 Mar 1944, says David was born 30 May 1886 at Portglenone, co Antrim, Ireland, son of James McCauley & Hannah McKillop, both of Portglenone
IMMIGRATION – Hannah McCauley (24y, b Ireland) accompanied by sons James (5y, b Ireland), John (3y, b Ireland) and David (infant, b Ireland); family arrived at Philadelphia 18 Aug 1888 on ship Prussian from Glasgow, Scotland
1895 OR STATE CENSUS – H. McCulley (over 18y, b Ireland) enumerated with James (over 21y, b Ireland, farmer), James (age 10-21, b Ireland), John (age 10-21, b Scotland), David (age under 10y, b Pennsylvania), R.O. (age under 10y, b Oregon) and Archie (1y, b Oregon)
NOTE – Hannah was sister of Archie and Robert McKillop
DISCREPANCY – If Hannah’s age on the passenger list is correct, her tombstone (of recent manufacture) would make her five years too old.
