Mass), maiden name of mother Susan McLench (b. Fayette, Maine), interment Zena; informant Guy O. Smith of Salem.

OBITUARY: 

Falling Tree Proves Fatal To Zena Man
ZENA—E. Cranston Higgins, 84, one of the oldest native sons of this town, was killed at his farm home Saturday while felling a tree.
He was born July 27, 1857, on the donation land claim of his parents, Susan Amanda and Selden Higgins. He lived all of his life in the same place.
The Selden Higgins family came to Oregon in 1851, and took up their land claim near Zena in 1852. E. Cranston Higgins was the only living child of that family. He married Etta Trout in 1905.
His survivors include his widow and many nieces and nephews, among whom are William F. Walker and Guy Smith of Salem.
Funeral services are to be held at the Zena church Tuesday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Edward Allen officiating. Concluding services are to be in the Zena cemetery. Walker-Howell funeral home of Salem are in charge of arrangements.
