OBITUARY: 
Funeral rites were held for Mrs. Elizabeth Burbank Thursday afternoon from the Pedee school house with the Keeney funeral home in Independence in charge and Rev E.A. Fogg of Pedee reading the service. 
Mrs. Burbank passed away at the home of her daughter Mrs. Jasper Willets on West Main street, Monmouth, Monday, December 25 at the age of 73 years, one month and 24 days. Her maiden name was Elizabeth Ellen Tice. She was born in Marion county, directly across the river from Independence, on October 31, 1860. Her entire life was spent in Polk county with the exception of a short time in Washington and eastern Oregon. 
She was married to Orlando R. Burbank March 4, 1879 at Eugene. To this union 14 children were born, six daughters and eight sons. Five daughters and seven sons survive. They are: Mrs. J. Yost, Portland; Mrs. Swan Johnson, Metzcer, Ore.; Mrs. Hattie Dahrns, Sandy; Mrs. Virgil Pankratz and Mrs. Bertha Willet, both of Monmouth; A.I. Burbank, C.G. Burbank, C.L. Burbank, O.N. Burbank and E.A. Burbank of Pedee; L.W. Burank, Gaston and P.O. Burbank, Monmouth. Mrs. Burbank is also survived by 43 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three brothers, C.M. Tice, Aberdeen, Wash; W.L. Tice, Sandy and O.J. Tice, Auburn, Washington.
