OBITUARY: 
Mabel Violet Staniford, 79, a resident of Dallas, died at Valley Community Hospital Feb 10. She was born Dec 29, 1910 in Boring, the daughter of John and Mary Larsen Russell. She attended school in Falls City. She lived in Halls Ferry and Washington before moving to Dallas in 1932. She was a homemaker and enjoyed her children and grandchildren. She wed Edgar C. “Shorty” Staniford June 28, 1927 in Salem. He preceded her in death in July 1970. She is survived by sons Emmett Staniford, Bovill, Idaho, and Virgil and Kenneth Staniford, both of Dallas; daughters Betty Wells, Marcola, and Dorothy Courter, Dallas; and 19 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, James Russell, Dallas, and Ralph Russell, Joplin, Mo, and a sister, Dorothy Baughman, Salem. Funeral services are 11 am Thursday, Feb 15 in the Bollman Funeral Home, Dallas, with private family committal services in the Brown Cemetery. Those wishing to remember her are asked to make a contribution to the Cancer Society or the Mid-Willamette Valley Hospice. Bollman Funeral Home, Dallas, was in charge of arrangements.
