Cummie Brown died last Thursday evening of appendicitis, his funeral was preached Saturday by Brother Winter and they laid him away among kindred in the Brown cemetery. His brothers, Frank was here from McMinnville and Lot from Baker City. He was just 21 years of age, and would have become a good and useful man. Everybody liked Cummie and he was admired for his devotion to his mother who was a sister of ex-Sheriff Plummer.
