Edward Charles Holbrook, Feb. 4, 1910-Aug. 13, 1990
Monmouth – Edward Charles Holbrook, 80, died Monday in Independence. He was born in Crow Wing County, Minn, came to Oregon from Minnesota in 1942, and moved to Monmouth from west Salem in 1956. He was a custodian at Oregon College of Education (now Western Oregon State College), retiring in 1970. He married Mary V. Hawkins on April 9, 1945, in Vancouver, Wash. He was a member of Independence First Baptist Church and Teamsters Union Local 670. He is survived by his wife and sisters, Adeline Stockman of Royalton, Minn, and Alice Taylor of French Lick, Ind. Visiting will be from 1 to 8 pm today at Farnstrom mortuary, Independence. Services will begin at 10 am Thursday in the church, with vault interment in Smith Cemetery, Monmouth. Contributions may be made to the church.
