OBITUARY: 
Virgil Bevens, youngest son of J. D. Bevens of Dallas, died in Portland this morning at 7:30. Virgil had been taken to the US Veterans hospital for treatment about three weeks ago and had been sinking rapidly. 
Funeral services will be held at Finley’s in Portland at 10 o’clock Friday. Burial will be in the Smith cemetery near Lewisville about 1 o’clock Friday. 
Virgil was a member of Company L overseas and had spent the greater part of his life in Polk county. He is survived by his wife and one child, his father and one brother Claude Bevens of Shedd. He was born at Airlie.
