NOTE - George W. Haptonstall died 30 Jan 1923 in San Francisco, California, age 66y, and was buried at Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo Co, California, where he and Martha were living at the time [San Francisco Funeral Home Records, Ancestry.com]. Martha moved back to Polk Co, Oregon, after his death.

OBITUARY: 
Services will be held from the Smith-Baun chapel at 2 pm Saturday for Mrs Martha E. Haptonstall who passed away at Dallas August 11. She was born July 7, 1860, at Galapolis county, Ohio. Rev Jesse Baker will officiate at the services with interment at the Smith cemetery at Monmouth. Mrs Haptonstall was known in Independence as Aunt Mattie and had made her home with Mr and Mrs E.A. Weddle for the past three years. She was an aunt of Mrs Weddle and Mrs Etta Moore of Vernonia. Among nieces and nephews surviving are Mrs Jack Burbank of Monmouth, Fred Perin and Harold Burns of Salem.
