Mar 1833 in Germany, along with Anna, age 43, single, b. Apr 1857 in Wisconsin, Lue [Lewis], age 38, single, farm laborer, b. Jan 1862 in Wisconsin, Augusta, age 36, single, b. Aug 1863 in Wisconsin, John J., age 29, single, farm laborer, b. Jul 1870 in Oregon, and Tilda, age 25, single, b. Feb 1875 in Oregon.

OBITUARY: 
Funeral services for Francis Otto Kau who died at his home near Hoskins Thursday, February 12, were held in the Keeney Funeral home in Corvallis Monday, February 16. Rev. Clarence W. Reynolds, pastor of the First Christian church of Corvallis, officiated and interment was in the family plot in the Montgomery cemetery in Polk country. 
Son of John J. and Louise J. Meffars Kau, well known early Oregon pioneers, “Frank” Kau was born in the Bridgeport precinct of Polk county June 3, 1872. He attended the schools of that community and then engaged in stock raising which occupation he followed for many years. In March of last year he went to Benton county and has since made his home with his sister near Hoskins. 
Mr Kau was a single man, having never married. Surviving are his sister, Mrs Matilda J. Frantz and a brother, Jerald Louis Kau, both of Hoskins and by several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
