George Werts, who used to live in McTimmonds Valley, died near Lewisville this week, aged 70 years.
Uncle George Wertz, an old and highly respected citizen of the southern part of the county, died suddenly at the home of his daughter, Mrs J.W. Yost, at Pedee, on the 24th. He went to bed as usual Sunday night, but not appearing at breakfast time, one of the family went to his room to awaken him and found him dead, he having died apparenty without a struggle. He was born in Pennsylvania over 69 years ago, was married to Catherine Sheckles in 1870, who died some 14 years later. His remains were laid to rest in Montgomery cemetery, Rev Arnold conducting the exercises. His daughter and family have the sympathy of the entire community.
