OBITUARY: 
PEARL JANE RONCO -- Pearl Jane Ronco, a resident of the Newberg area since 1947, died at a local care center on Sunday, June 21st.  She was 84.

Pearl Jane Ronco was born the daughter of Charles Applegate and the former Bertha Hittinger in Elkridge, Kansas on October 18, 1896.  In 1904, she came with her family to Portland and attended schiool there.  She was married to Albert P. Ronco in Portland on September 8, 1917.  They made their first home in Falls City, later moving to Pedee.  In 1947 they moved to Newberg, living in the Ladd Hill area, and have made their home in Newberg since that time..  Due to poor health she has lived in a nursing home for a little over six years.

She was a member of the Free Methodist Church, serving as Sunday School treasureer at the Falls City Church and was a Lady's Missionary Society Member in both Falls City and Newberg churches.  She was active and President in the PTA at Fir Grove School in Pedee; a member of the Pedee Sewing Circle and Pedee Ladies Club.

Surviving are her husband, Albert P. Ronco of Newberg; of the eight children born to them, four survive including one daughter, Olive Dasch of Salem and three sons, Charles Ronco of Amity, Arthur Ronco of Tigard, and Paul Ronco of Pedee; two brothers, Glenn Applegater of Portland and Cloise Applegate of Hood River; ten grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
