OBITUARY: Alberta Mae Smithson Amity -- Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in Attrell-Brown Mortuary, Newberg, for Alberta Mae Smithson, 55, of Rt. 1, Box 385, Amity. Burial will be in Montgomery Cemetery, Pedee. She died Wednesday in a Salem hospital.
She was born in Seattle, and moved as a child with her family to Pedee, where she attended grade school. She attended high school at Falls City. She had lived in Pedee most of her life, raising her family there and working in the fields in the summer. She married Rex Smithson in Newberg in 1957, and they had lived in Amity the past eight years.
Survivors include her husband, Rex; parents, Albert and Pearl Ronco, Newberg; daughters, Colleen and Kim Smithson, Lafayette; sons Alan, in the U. S. Army at Fort Eustis, Virginia and Aaron, Amity; brothers, Paul Ronco, Pedee, Art Ronco, Amity; and sister, Olive Dash, Menlo Park, California.
