DIVORCE - Polk County Circuit Court Journal, Vol 22, pages 568-569: Marion Ruth Hasse vs Albert W. Hasse, case 7297; divorce granted 19 Sept 1930; plaintiff's name changed to Marion Ruth Bennett 

NOTE - Mother and step-father Nathan & Gladys Bennett are buried in Hilltop Cemetery; Nathan was son of Samuel C. & Mary E. Bennett.

DISCREPANCY - her first name is spelled Marian in her obit, and on some records, but as Marion [with an "o"] on her marker and in DC.

OSBH DC (Marion County 1936) #422 - Marion Ruth (Becker) Bennett, female, school teacher, divorced, b. 15 Aug 1907 in Arlington, South Dakota, d. 26 Apr 1936 in Salem, Oregon (Salem Hospital) at the age of 28 yrs 8 mos 14 days, name of father F. C. Becker (b. Maryland), maiden name of mother Gladys Bennett (b. South Dakota), interment Dallas; informant N. G. Bennett of Monmouth, Oregon.

OBITUARY: 
Marian Ruth Bennett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed. G. Bennett died in the Salem general hospital April 29 after several weeks illness from the effect of a clot of blood on the lungs.  Funeral services were held in the Walter Smith chapel in Monmouth Saturday afternoon with Rev. W. A. Elkins officiating.  Song was by Mrs. Eldon Riddell.  Burial was in the Riggs cemetery on the Lewisville road south of Dallas, a short distance from the junction with the Falls City road.
Miss Bennett was a young woman whose future had held bright promise.  She was born in Arlington, S.D., August 15, 1907 and came to this vicinity with her parents when she was 13.  She was a graduate of the Independence high school and the Oregon Normal School.
While in Monmouth, in 1927, she joined the Christian church and for a time taught class in Bible school.  She taught school at Prineville and at West Salem.  She is survived by her parents and one sister, Mrs. Helen Husted of Prineville.  Her parents live on the Independence road, a short distance from Monmouth.
