OBITUARY: 

James LaFrance passed away Friday at his home near Greenwood, where he was running the Greenwood place, of pneumonia, after an illness of some days. The funeral was conducted Saturday at 10 o’clock, by Rev D. Lester Fields, of the Dallas Methodist church, at the Allen residence, and interment was made in the Riggs cemetery. He was a member of the Baptist church, which he joined in 1897. He was born in Canada in 1860, coming to Michigan in 1878, and to Oregon in 1912. In 1889 he married Celestia Dephew, but no children were born to them. He also a leaves a brother residing in the Antioch vicinity.
