OBITUARY: 
Funeral services were held Saturday for George Fay Brown, 72, at the Henkle and Bollman chapel with Rev. Clark S. Enz officiating. Burial was in the Brown cemetery on the Salt Creek road. 
Mr. Brown died in McMinnville on May 28 after an extended illness. He had been hospitalized for eight days. 
The youngest of a family of five boys and four girls, Mr. Brown was the son of George and Martha Brown, early Polk county pioneers. He was born on September 11, 1874, at Dallas and attended school in Dallas and Salt Creek. In November 1901, he was married to Nina Maude Mack, who died on May 24, 1927. 
On September 19, 1928, Mr. Brown was married to Macy Garbutt. 
He spent his entire life in Polk county as a farmer. During the past four years his health had been poor and on May 20 he was taken to the McMinnville hospital.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Macy Brown of Willamina, a son, Vernon L. of North Bonneville, Wash., a daughter, Mabel Garbutt of Otis, two grandsons, Elwyn Garbutt and Raymond Brown, and one granddaughter, Darlene Garbutt.
