Veva America Davis of Lebanon died Dec 12 at her home. She was 89.
She was born in Kohlotus [Kahlotus], Wash, to Burris “Sam” and Esther K. Rose Hastings. She grew up in Polk County and married Lawrence E. Davis June 9, 1923, in Dallas.
They lived in several towns throughout Oregon, mostly in Toledo, Salem and Molalla. Recently they had been living in Lebanon with her granddaughter and her husband.
She enjoyed her family, walks, cooking and crocheting. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed gardening, camping and hunting.
Survivors besides her husband include sons, Russell of Boston Bar, B.C., Canada, and Robert of Molalla; daughters, Marion Schroeder of Molalla and Kathy Slack of Lebanon; 25 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Bettyjean Anderson and a son, Samuel.
Services were Dec 14 at Huston Funeral Home in Lebanon, with private burial in English Cemetery in Monmouth.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lebanon Hospice, care of the funeral home.
