OBITUARY: 

Edith Orlena Davis, 79, of Rockaway died Jan 24 in a Roseburg nursing home. 
She was born in Airlie on Sept 1, 1893, the daughter of Aise [sic: Asa] and Sarah Wilson Staats. On Aug 21, 1957, she married Joseph A. Davis in Tacoma, Wash. Mrs. Davis lived in Dallas prior to moving to Rockaway in 1945 where she lived until being confined to a nursing home. Survivors include her husband, Joseph A. Davis of Rockaway; one daughter, Orlena Lewis of Myrtle Creek; one son, Fred Ray of Burnt Woods; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. 
Funeral services were at 2 pm Jan 27 in the Bollman Funeral home with the Rev Gordon Milldrum officiating. Interment was in the English cemetery in Monmouth.
