At the age of 77 years, name of father, H. A. Black, (Howell Abraham), maiden name of mother, Neoma Allender. Buried 28 Jan 1955, English Cemetery, Polk County, Oregon. John W. Boone Mortuary, Chehalis, Washington, funeral director. Informant: Mrs. Ella McCord.

OBITUARY: 

Ex-Airlie Resident Died in Centralia
Graveside services were held Friday at 2 o’clock at the English cemetery at Monmouth for Mrs. Alice Myrtle Wood, who passed away Tuesday [Jan 25] in a Centralia, Wn, hospital at the age of 78 years. 
Mrs. Wood was born in Trenton, Iowa, January 10, 1877. She was married to William Wood and they made their home in Airlie for many years. In 1933 they moved to Washington, spending most of their remaining years at Chehalis. Four children were born to them at Airlie, Earl who died at an early age; Gertrude, who died several years ago; Carl of Kelso and Lester of Portland, who survive her.
Mrs Wood was a long-time member of the Evangelical United Brethren church. 
Surviving besides the two sons are 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, two brothers and four sisters.
