Hockenberry), b. in Arkansas, d. 8 Nov 1921 in Independence, Oregon (752 7th St.) at the age of 78 years, name of father J. M. Wood (b. Kentucky), maiden name of mother Malina Simpson (b. Tennessee), lived in town 18 months, informant H. C. Wood of Albany, Oregon.
OBITUARY: 
Mrs. Susan E. Hockenbery [Hockenberry], wife of William Hockenbery [Hockenberry], died at the family home, 752 Seventh street, Tuesday, Nov 8th, after a lingering illness, cancer of the stomach being the cause. She was 78 years old and prior to taking up her residence here she lived for many years in the Airlie country. 
Interment was made Wednesday in the English cemetery at Airlie, Rev W.H. Wood of Albany officiating, with Funeral Director A.L. Keeney in charge. Beside her husband, Mrs. Hockenbery [Hockenberry] is survived by four children by a former marriage.
