Lorene Hamm, Sept. 21, 1911-Aug. 18, 1989.
Graveside services for Lorene Bernice Hamm, 77, of Philomath will be held at 11 am on Tuesday at Edwards Cemetery in Pedee. Vault interment will follow. The Rev. Ernest Hoyt will officiate. Mrs. Hamm died Friday at the Corvallis manor. 
She was born on Sept 21, 1911, in Pedee to Alvin and Jessie Bevens Edwards. She was raised and attended school in Pedee and graduated from Philomath High School. 
She attended Oregon Agriculture College for a year when the college was in Philomath. 
On Nov 15, 1929, she married Hal Thomas Hamm in Bend. The couple lived in Philomath where she was a homemaker. She raised a family of five children. 
Mr. Hamm was a logger and a farmer. He died on Jan 13, 1976. Mrs. Hamm was a charter member of the Philomath Buckaroos. She was interested in and studied Pedee community history and she also traced and studied her family’s genealogy. She is survived by a son, Alvin “Bud” Hamm of Philomath; three daughters, DeLores Brown and Marjorie Haffner, both of Juneau, Alaska, and Loretta Gilbert of Lebanon; a brother, Harley Edwards of Juneau, Alaska; four sisters, LaVelle Shaw, Eleanor Bethers and Harlene Stratton, all of Philomath, and Verna Spurgeon of Mehama, Ore; 21 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. 
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Carter in 1976. Visitation will be held on Monday from 1 to 7 pm at McHenry Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hope Cottage in Anchorae, Alaska, in care of McHenry Funeral Home, 206 NW 5th St, Corvallis, Ore, 97330.
