Hazel was probably born in June or July 1900, shortly after the census was taken. The family later moved to Seattle, King Co, Washington, where they appear in the 1910 census. Smith R. Young died 21 Oct 1922 in Seattle [death certificate as indexed on FamilySearch.org]

OBITUARY: Hazel, the infant daughter of Mr and Mrs S.R. Young, of Eola, died Monday, April 15, 1901, aged 9 months. The remains were buried in the Rickreall cemetery. The bereaved parents have the sympathy of all in their sad loss. Polk County Observer Friday 19 Apr 1901, 1:3
